Numbers 32:12-14

¹² Only Caleb, the son of Jephunneh, the Kenizzite, and Joshua, the son of Nun, will see it for they followed the Lord wholeheartedly.’ ¹³ The Lord’s anger blazed against Israel and he made them wander in the desert for forty years until the entire generation that had done evil in the sight of the Lord was consumed. ¹⁴ Now, you brood of sinful men have risen up to take your fathers’ place, adding to the Lord’s blazing anger against Israel.
